A broken, decayed tooth can develop more serious problems unless you visit Dr. Ghina Morad for a dental crown. Our dentist and team provide dental crowns in San Carlos, California, in order to restore the health of your smile.

When a tooth is damaged due to trauma or excessive decay, fillings or other restorations can often be out of the question. In these cases, a crown is the best way to preserve your existing tooth while protecting it and restoring your mouth’s function.

A crown is a custom-built artificial tooth that is placed on top of your existing tooth. To prepare your tooth for a crown, Dr. Ghina Morad will reduce it in size and then take an impression of your mouth. This will be used by the dental laboratory to build your crown. At a second appointment, we will place your crown, and you’ll be ready to enjoy your newly preserved tooth!

Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and onlays are similar to a crown but only cover a portion of your tooth. An inlay is made to fill in the biting surface of your tooth when a cavity has infected the hard-to-reach places on top of your teeth.

An onlay is made to replace a portion of a damaged tooth, but unlike a crown, does not cover the entire tooth. This is an excellent option when part of your biting surface or side of a tooth has been damaged, but the rest of the tooth is healthy.

If you think a dental crown, inlay, or onlay is a good option for you, call our office today at 650-592-6396, or make an appointment using our online form. We look forward to working with you to restore your smile to its peak health!
